I built two art cars. The first was called Sakana, or just the fish car, and was the most successful from an artistic perspective. The second was called Jabba’s Barge and was the most successful from a fun perspective.

Sakana, the fish art car

Sakana was built in 2007 from an old Geo Prizm, with linen sails over bamboo grown in my father’s backyard. We brought it out two years, and a picture of it made the cover of an art textbook on American puppetry.

Jabba’s Barge

Jabba's Barge art car

Jabba’s Barge was a much more ambitious project, built in 2011 from steel on a Ford F-450. We drove it from the platform on top, eventually added fire, and its own sound system meant we could host parties.
