Running all around

Well I mentioned it in the last post, but I ran a 10K on Thanksgiving, and it really made me realize that I need to start working out a little harder than I am now. . . since I came in almost dead last in the competition, for my age group.

Didn't realize how long it's been, but I guess it's time to fill you all in. Didn't mean for that to rhyme, but you'll get over it in due time. Seriously if I rhyme too much, you'll beat me and then I'll need a crutch.

OK enough of that. . .

So last few weeks, have been spent snowboarding, and thinking about snowboarding. Basically. I've been up twice, since that faithful last trip on Halloween, and it's been stellar. G was good enough to lend me his board, and I realized that going really fucking fast is damn fun, and that I need a big ass board, most likely a wide. Went to Skidazzle, and realized that I'm never going again. The deals were good, but nothing you can't get online, and the place was complete zoo.

Well in case any of you were wondering: Mammoth in October rocks.

The conditions were awesome. Spring like, but without that sinking. . .the seasons almost over feeling.

There were the mid day crowds, but for the most time we were boarding right onto the lifts.

One of the coolest things was talking to old times who said that in 35 years of riding they can count the number of times they could ride in October on one hand. I'm starting count baby!

Never been this excited about rain. . .

It's been raining all day, and rained last weekend. I am literally in a tizzy. Everyone seams to think that the mountain will open early, and I can go as soon as it does.

You can't see a thing on the cams, because it's dumping so fucking hard.

Just saw this story on Wired. Hadn't heard about anything like this. Very interesting. Participatory story telling. . . with a plot that it 2 parts War of the Worlds, and one part 12 monkeys.

So I guess it's been a while since I made it out to a movie theater, because I seemed to be the only one who was shocked and amazed that there were no longer ANY previews, all having been replaced by commercials for snack food and 2nd rate TV shows.
