Belated Weekend Update

I ran a marathon (length) on Saturday. A twenty mile training run in the morning, and then ran the Nike® Run Hit Wonder 10K. I really didn't think I would make it, and was cursing G all day between the two, but once I got out there I had a great time. Ran my best 10K time ever: 1:08:54.

Which really isn't saying that much, since my only other 10k was the first race I ever did and the first time I ever ran over 3 miles, but it shows how far I've come and gave me a lot of confidence for the Marathon. Which is coming up very soon.

Engagement Party

Lauren's family and my father's side of mine finally met. It went much better than I had expected. There were some no show's, but they were expected. All in all everyone really got along. The food was wonderful, and the wine and the champaign (ouch) kept flowing.

This whole experience has had some very profound effects on how I view the world. I've never had much experience with things like for ever, and always, but now for the first time in my life I feel I have a sense of what those words mean.

I love you sweetheart.

Last year after the man burned I set a goal

I was so impressed with the art I saw there, and so inspired to create something really impressive. I told myself that if I worked really hard, and got back on the creative kick, one year I'd finally do it. I'd finally create something that made it up on the gallery on the official Burning Man site. It was in the top three when I started my list of 43 things. I'd day dream about all it all the time.

Five Mile Run, no big deal

So last night I went for my first run in a few weeks. It was a short run for me know, gearing up to the marathon, but it really put in to perspective how far I've come. We just came home and went about the rest of our evening. No big deal.

I remember when running 3 miles would practically kill me.

About one month, and it's gonna be 26.2! I'm excited.

Almost There

I had really planned to documet the progress with more detail, but we've just been so wrapped up in working on it that I've bearly had the time to think about what to do next.

I am so greatful for all the help we've gotten. Everyone who came was amazing. We never could have done it without you all. Collie, Jules, Allen, JJ, Dan, Justin, Sumbry, John, Dan's friend (forgot your name hunny, but you rock) you are all rockstars. Mariana for donating the car, and for moving your move to SF so that you could work for us, wow. George's family for putting up with all of us for all these weeks, no months. . . we've been at it for months, and letting us take appart their fence, now that's love. Finally my most humble thanks to Lauren for really stepping up to the plate and putting aside all your own playa projects and working so hard, and putting up with all of my tantrums. Thank you. We're almost there, and god willing it's actually going to make it out there, you are all angles.

busy

I'm been busy. Just damn insane busy.

Real Quick:

- marathon training is going well
- art car is looking very impressive
- work is simply amazing this month, fingers crossed.
- oh yeah and I got engaged.

So yeah not much time to blog all about it.

So excited right now. Just put in our application to the DMV.

It's called "So Long and Thanks For All The. . . " Made entirely out of bamboo canvas and a donated Saturn hatch back. . .

and it's going to rock! I can't even tell you how much I've enjoyed working on this. . . It's still a long way from the Playa, but I confident that we can pull this off.
